Spring Reset

I love spring. For some reason, it motivates me to reassess and reset more than even New Years. I have never been one for New Year's Resolutions, but spring is another story. I am not sure if it is because the sun is shining more, the flowers are blooming, or if it is simply the natural rhythm of life.

A "Spring Reset" usually refers to a period of intentional renewal and transformation, often associated with spring cleaning and new beginnings. It can involve de-cluttering, setting new goals, and rejuvenating your mind, body, and home.

Here is what I think of when pondering a spring reset:

  1. Home:

  • De-cluttering:

Getting rid of unwanted items physically and digitally for a more organized and less cluttered space.

  • Spring Cleaning: Deep cleaning the house, updating decor, and bringing in in some fresh energy. I love tulips in a vase in my living room.

  • Clothing Turnover: Updating my closet with seasonal clothing and accessories. It feels so good to get out those lighter clothes and put up the dark heavy ones!

2. Health and Wellness:

  • Dietary: Focus on fresh, whole foods and healthy eating habits. Of course, we should always do this, but it is so much easier in the spring and summer.

  • Exercise and Movement: Incorporate regular physical activity into your routine. Who doesn't like to be able to get outside for a walk, finally?!

  • Sleep and Hydration: Prioritizing sleep and staying hydrated throughout the day.

  • Stress Management: Practice stress-reducing activities like going outdoors and getting sunshine (and some vitamin D).

3. Mental and Emotional Reset:

  • Setting New Intentions and Goals: Reflect on the past year and set new goals for the upcoming months.

  • Mindfulness and Self-Care: Engage in activities that promote relaxation and self-care. This sounds selfish and silly, but if you don't care for yourself and fill your cup, you have nothing to give others.

·

Reflecting and reassessing a couple of times a year is essential for personal growth, goal setting, and recognizing areas for improvement. It helps people identify achievements, learn from past experiences, and create positive momentum for the future. Go for it, and let's all have a spring reset!
